FAQ
Q.Will my monthly premium go up if I go through my insurance?
A.No. Auto Glass and Windshield replacement falls under the comprehensive portion of your insurance rather than the "collision" portion. Broken auto glass does not reflect your driving ability and has no bearing on your level of risk to the insurance company. Therefore the repair or replacement of your windshield will not influence your insurance premiums.
Consumer Tip: Most people don't realize that their insurance has a special lower deductible for auto glass damage. It's worth double checking to ensure you know your AUTO GLASS deductible rather than your collision deductible.
Many people tell us they have a $500 windshield deductible, but when we confirm coverage, we find out that their AUTO GLASS deductible is only $100
Q.How do I File an insurance claim?
A.Call us toll free @ 1 (800) 790-0750 and we will walk you step by step through the process or contact your local insurance agent.
Q.Is there a difference in windshield quality?
A.Yes, some manufacturers make better quality glass than others. LOF (Libby Owens Ford), PPG, Carlite (FORD), Safeguard (Chrysler) are brands that are original equipment on most cars and trucks. We normally use these brands for replacement.
Q.What about windshields made in Mexico?
A.LOF has a plant in Mexico that makes first class auto glass and has received awards from Toyota and others for their high quality. This plant also sells glass under the Crinmex brand that is of equal quality.
Q.How about windshields manufactured in China?
A.Again, some are as good as American made and some are not. We know which is which and only use the best.
Q.Are all urethanes equal? (Glue or adhesives that hold the windshields in place)
A.Urethane is the only federally approved adhesive and is also required by all auto manufacturers because of its' strength and ability to hold the windshield in the vehicle in the event of a crash. All that have passed the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 212/208 are equal when fully cured . Different brands and types have different cure times to reach full strength.
